Lamentation is a proposed project set to debut at Burning Man Arts Festival in 2024. A reimagination of Michelangelo's Pietà, but with a Black Madonna and her infant child. The piece is meant to highlight the medical racism Black mothers and children face which leads to staggering mortality in the US healthcare system.

Lamentation will be constructed out of wood carved on the CNC and will remain unvarnished, allowing the piece to weather with age. The weathering a representation of the relentless, omnipresent destructive force of racism in America.
